Validation of RNA Genetic Testing for Routine Use in a Clinical Diagnostic Setting with Tyler Landrith, PhD

  • This webinar will cover the developments in clinical genetic testing leading to RNA genetic testing and the relevant technological background.

The molecular biology of RNA splicing that underpins the functional information offered by RNA will be discussed.  A targeted and scalable approach to RNA genetic testing in 18 tumor suppressor genes will be described.

The results of this approach in a pilot cohort yielded a relative percent increase in the diagnostic yield, and case studies will be presented that illustrate how RNA contributes to such an increase.

    Webinar CEU

Only the live session qualifies for CEUs but when possible, we host the recordings on our website and NSGC recommends participants to use their personal email instead of work email addresses to ensure they receive their CEU certificates.

    Webinar PACE

Ambry Genetics is approved as a provider for continuing education program by NSGC and ASCLS P.A.C.E ® Program.

Scientist I, Research & Development- Ambry’s Translational Genomics (ATG) Lab

Tyler Landrith is an R&D scientist in the Ambry Translational Genomics (ATG) Lab.  He joined Ambry in 2017 as a postdoctoral fellow and his work in the ATG lab has focused on assay development for RNA genetic testing.  He received his PhD from UC Riverside, where his dissertation work in the Wilson Laboratory employed NGS to develop RNA expression profiles of the immunological memory response to chronic T. gondii infection. He lives in Aliso Viejo with his wife and 16-month old daughter, where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Tara Namey, MS, LCGC

Sr. Genetic Specialist, Ambry Genetics

Tara Namey joined Ambry Genetics in 2016 as an Oncology Genetic Specialist.   Prior to joining Ambry, Tara was employed for 16 years at Lehigh Valley Health Network during which time she played an integral role in the development and growth of the Greg and Lorraine Harper Cancer Genetics Program.  During her time there, Tara served as both Manager and Senior Genetic Counselor.  Tara received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Med from the University of Scranton.  She earned her Masters of Science degree in Genetic Counseling from California State University, Northridge and is board-certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
