The Zinc Finger Protein 674 (ZNF674 OMIM 300573) encodes a putative transcription factor with Krupple-type zinc finger binding motifs, but its exact function is currently unknown. The ZNF674 gene is located at Xp11.3 and contains 4 coding exons. Missense mutations and duplications in the ZNF674 gene have been reported in patients with X-linked mental retardation (Lugtenberg D et al. Am J Hum Genet. 2006;78:265-278 and Ramaswamy V et al. Pediatr Neurol. 2010;43:209-212).
