Clinical Cytogeneticist
We are looking for a highly motivated colleague who will participate in a busy and actively expanding diagnostic laboratory and full service genomics company, which includes a full service molecular facility offering many sequencing assay’s, SNP panels, as well as Chromosomal Microarrays (CMA).

Duties will include reviewing and signing-out cytogenetic and CMA cases, new test development, troubleshooting technical problems, some teaching of medical technologists, students and staff training.

The successful candidate must be American Board of Medical Genetics certified, or eligible, in Clinical Cytogenetics,  BC/CE in Clinical Molecular Genetics is a plus. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, and should also have an interest in participating in clinical or translational research.

Medical Director
We are seeking a full-time medical director who will have the opportunity to provide input and guidance on new genetic tests, clinical operations, business development and customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent, creative, service-oriented person looking to make a difference in a growing organization.

 

Responsibilities:
The medical director is expected to provide medical guidance and direction that support and enhance the overall mission of the company. The successful candidate should have experience in clinical applications of novel technologies, particularly genetics. Additional activities include lecturing at meetings, manuscript and grant writing, participating in company's business development, and promoting collaborations with researchers in projects that benefit the scientific community.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • MD or MD/PhD degree
  • Board certified in Clinical Molecular Pathology and/or Molecular Genetics
  • Unrestricted medical license in the state of California
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations and aCGH microarray technology is highly desirable

 

Genetic Counselor
We are seeking a full-time, personable and self-motivated genetic counselor. Excellent salary and growth potential. In addition, this position provides opportunity for input and guidance in the development of new genetic tests, sales relations, customer service, operations, and more. This is an excellent position for an independent, creative, service-oriented person looking to make a difference in a growing organization. In this position you will have the opportunity to publish research articles, attend conferences related to our products, and interact directly with our clients. Primary responsibility for at least one product area with shared responsibility in multiple others.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide clients technical information about tests offered by Ambry Genetics.
  • Assist clients with test coordination, result reporting and interpretation.
  • Participate in launch of new molecular tests by reviewing relevant medical literature as well as all materials prepared by marketing, research and clinical laboratories.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling
  • Board certified or board eligible for ABGC
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Writing skills, customer-service/sales, and clinical experiences are a must.

R&D Scientist – Assay Development
We are seeking a full time Jr. Scientist for our molecular genetics R&D laboratory.

The Jr. Scientist will be involved in the development of new assays in our research team. Responsibilities include: assessment of genetic literature, project utility and scope, independent assay design and hands-on assay development in line with Ambry's technology, evaluation of research data, new technologies, and generation of publications and business materials.

The position is geared at a candidate who can efficiently work in a goal-oriented research and development setting, and wants to get involved in the field of clinical diagnostics. Well-rounded scientist with background in several different areas preferred. Excellent molecular biology skills, verbal and written communication skills are absolute musts.

Other requirements include: Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, or related scientific field with interest in gastroenterology or pulmonary disorders. Proficiency in PCR-based, cloning, and sequencing technologies. Minimum of two years experience post-doctoral training.  Strong general computer and bioinformatics skills including primer design and sequencing software. Excellent organizational skills. Ability and desire to work in fast paced environment.

Laboratory Associate
We are seeking a full time laboratory associate for our molecular genetics clinical laboratory.

The associate should have experience with basic molecular biology concepts and techniques including DNA isolation, polymerase chain reaction, DNA sequencing, and gel electrophoresis. Familiarity with robotics is a plus. Computer skills should include Word and Excel.

We are looking for dedicated personnel who are able to multi task and thrive in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be able to work with the Ambry team, have good social skills, and be adaptable to changes in a rapidly growing company.
